Helen Wu:
- Women’s Team Champion in 1976 & 77 Chinese National Championships.
- Member of Chinese National Youth Team (1972) and Shanghai Women’s Team (1971 - 80).
- Graduate of Shanghai Physical Education College (1985).
- Coach of Shanghai Junior Team (1980 - 85).
- Among the players she coached were: CAO Yanhua, 2 time World Women’s Singles Champion (1981 & 83) and BO Qijuan, World Women’s Doubles Runner-up (1983).
- Researcher in Sport Psychology - Shanghai Physical Education Research Institute (1985 - 1988).
- Assistant Coach of BC Junior Team (1989 – 1990).
- Coach of BC Junior Team (1994 - 1997).
- Coach of BC Women’s Team (1995 - 2002).
- Head Coach of BC Junior Team (1998 – 2002).
- NCCP Level III Certified coach in Canada. As Provincial coach, produced many Canadian Champions for BC. Some of the highlights of her achievement include:
- BC Women’s Team winning its first ever Team gold medal in the 1995 Canadian National Championships, fielding 3 home grown players (her students since beginner) in the Finals.
- BC Women’s Team winning all 4 gold medals (Team, Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles) in the 1999 Western Canada Summer Games (again with her local students since beginner).
- BC Team finishing 2nd in the 1999 Canadian Winter Games.
- BC Junior Team finishing 2nd overall in the 1990 Canadian Junior Championship with 19 medals out of 21 events (9 Gold, 5 Silver, 5 Bronze), winning more gold than the winning team.
- BC Junior Team finishing 3rd overall in 1999 (20 medals), 2000 (25 medals), 2001 (23 medals) & 2002 (26 medals) Canadian Junior Championships.
- Co-founded the GVTTA after leaving the post of BC provincial coach, and continued to produce many top juniors in BC and Canada. Examples of her achievements in GVTTA include:
- 14 of 22 members of the 2007 BC Junior Team were her students; all of them medal winners in the 2007 Canadian Junior Championships (4 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze).
- 9 members of the GVTTA junior classes were selected to the 2008 BC Junior Team; all of them medal winners in the 2008 Canadian Junior Championships (1 gold, 4 silver, 6 bronze).
Advisory Head Coach
Yiu-Tak Tse:
- Coach of Alberta Junior Team (1981 – 87); improved the team’s overall standing in the Canadian Junior Champions from 6th (1980) to 2nd (1984 – 87).
- Coach of Alberta Women’s Team (1981 – 87); build the team from 5th (1981) to medal winners (Silver in 1985, Bronze in 1984 & 87) in Canadian Championships, and swept all 4 gold medals (Team, Sgls, Dbls and Mixed Dbls) in 1987 Western Canada Summer Games.
- Coach of Canadian Junior Team to 1985 South England Junior Open, capturing 3 gold medals.
- BC Junior Development Director and Manager/Coach of BC Junior Team (1988–90 and 1994-2001); help rebuild the team to become contenders in Canadian Junior Championships. BC Team’s overall standing improved from 5th in 1987 to 2nd in 1990, winning an unprecedented 9 Gold medals out of 21, more gold medals than the overall winner Quebec.
- After joining the GVTTA in 2004, continued working in the development of young players, transforming them from beginner to elite level. Examples of his achievements include:
In 2007 & 2008, ¾ of the BC Under 11 team (6 of 8 in 2007 and 5 of 7 in 2008) were members of the GVTTA Junior classes. All of them medal winners at the Canadian Junior Championships, in addition to winning numerous trophies in local and regional tournaments.

- Trained in Shanghai South District Sports School and Shanghai Amateur Sports School; Men’s Team Champion and Men’s Singles Silver Medalist in Shanghai City Secondary School Sports Games ( 1974 - 1979 )
